After Six Photography
Special Effects
Even during the film days, many a photographer would manipulate images in the dark room and use
techniques that would enhance the quality of their images.  It's a lot faster to apply these effects in the
digital darkroom and there's a lot of software out there to help us along.
The first set are images that have been Draganized through an action in Photoshop CS2. The pictures on the
left are before the effect was applied and the second after the application.

The next set of images are composed from 3-5 different images at various shutter speeds and then run through
a "
High Dynamic Range (HDR)" program where you align the images, adjust the tonal range and add other
effects to enhance image.  I've used CS2,
Photomatix and Dynamic Pro in my HDR work each giving different
results.
Dynamic Pro and Photomatix both have trial versions if you want to try them out for yourself.
This effect I sometimes use
is part of an infra red action,
but I don't care for the final
outcome so I stop it at mid
point to get this effect.
This effect comes from using
two images and processing
them using Photo Merge in
Adobe's CS2.
