| Photographing Smoke |
| I saw a "How To" video on u-tube the other day and thought I'd give it a try. I used different colored gels in front of a 150ws strobe(full power), a 10º grid with a 25º down angle 4 feet away from the smoke on a black background. NIkon D-80 on a tripod, ISO-250, 1/125sec, various f-stops to accommodate the gels 3 feet from the smoke provided by a lit cigarette secured in an ashtray. Only a few of these have been "PhotoShopped" to increase the white point but most of the images have been cropped from the original image to suit my taste and to play with the "Rule of Thirds". |
